Monday, Boxing Day (observed)

We started at Rum Point, but my new friends from Michigan wanted to see big stingrays.
So we went to the Sandbar, they saw big stingrays!

My children are growing up. They decided not to go boating, Hunter chose to spend the day with Luke and Jake while Hayley spent the day with Emily. I don't mind having a day off but I miss them!

Sunday morning

What to do on a Sunday morning? How about a flight around the island? It was free so why not?
Maybe I hadn't realized that I was going to be flown by Captain Liv! Hey I survived so it can't be too bad!

The weather was beautiful. The Sandbar. Big dots are people, little round dots are stingrays. Didn't realise at the time I would be there tomorrow...

The Clan

We are very blessed to celebrate another Christmas with Mom and Dad.
Some of the Roulstones/McTaggarts together for Christmas: L-R, Shirley Roulstone, Hunter Roulstone, Grace Hurst (nee McTaggart), Margaret McTaggart, Sharon Roulstone, Katherine Bovre, Tony Mosley, Raib McTaggart, Beth Roulstone (nee McTaggart), Lisa Mosley, Frank Roulstone Jr., Hayley Roulstone, Frank Roulstone III.

Christmas Pancakes

Taking a break from all the fun to eat some Christmas-themed pancakes. Now the dogs will have their Christmas bath and then H&H will be going to help Katherine set up her horse farm. Christmas lunch/dinner at Sharon's a bit later, then hopefully an early night. Yes, we are still in pajamas and yes those are cases of wine in the background!

Merry Christmas!

Up at 7am and ready to go!

The race is on.

Aunt Grace and Aunt Shirley watch the excitement!

Ready

Finally all ready for the onslaught of waking children on Christmas morning. It has been a tough night, there are seemingly millions of fireworks much to the displeasure of Rex and Max, and tough enough to get two excited kids to bed. Now, just after the mignight hour the fireworks continue but the not-so-little ones are asleep soon to be followed by their dad! Santa made it by so all is well. Merry Christmas everybody!

Winter Weather

Bitter cold temperatures (75F, 24C) meant that only the bravest entered the water in search of lobster this weekend. The rest of us just enjoyed the fruits of their labour and stayed land-bound for the first Sunday in a while! Will need the blanket tonight! :-)

Tis the Season

The Triple C Christmas concert; Hayley's class minus the boys.

Hunter's class singing...
and playing the recorder. Couldn't get a pic of Hayley playing the Trombone because we couldn't see her!

Breakfast with Santa

Some pictures from "Breakfast with Santa" on Saturday morning.

Day at Granny's

I think the dogs have it too easy so decided to torture them with reindeer hats...
He was the toughest one (Max), he just can't sit still!

Off to the beach. People from Saskatchewan dress funny.

Nice sunny December day at the beach. As always a white Christmas!

Soccer Mom

My life as a soccer mom is rewarding; Triple C 6, Cayman Prep 3. Proudly in the stands in support were Carol and Shirley.

Good sportsmen after a hard-fought match. Good start to the weekend.

Mismatch

Mismatch day for the children at school, thanks Aunt Shirshir for the help making them look so beautiful.

Me with the models in the parade, note my assistant keeping a close eye from the passenger seat! Yes, I brought Hawaiian Tropic back to Pirates Week and the response was outstanding.A beautiful day Sunday at the sandbar and Rum Point. These were no ordinary models, they helped find, clean and eat the conch!

Remembrance Day Holiday

After three days of rain from Ida the sun shined brightly on a holiday Monday. After Hunter's ortho appointment we boarded Greg's boat for conching. It was a little tougher today, after only a week of open season they were few and far between. But we got our limit and proceeded to Rum Point for a little socializing. A beautiful day, beautiful friends and the most beautiful water I have ever seen, not a bad way to spend a holiday. Pictures soon come.

New "Blinds"

The new Living Room "blinds", stained over the past two days and now mounted in place. They roll aside rather than open as bifolds and one can now sleep in darkness anytime night or day on the couch! One more set to go for the living room and then the boss wants the kitchen done too...

The Bed

Jenn needed a new bed and found one on-line that she liked, problem was we couldn't afford it. So we built it. And now three weeks later it is finished sufficiently to be installed, it has 8 compartments on the end and sides for storage.

It is a little higher than the average bed, well actually considerably higher! But she now has tons of storage and is no longer without a bed!

The baskets before we put in the shelves. Thankfully it has been raining for the past hree days so there was lots of time to get things done inside. New living room door pictures next! :-)

Halloween!

Hayley, Chloe and I went to the haunted house at Grand Harbour on Friday night. They made it through 3 of the 5 rooms and then decided they had enough! So we watched the surfers for a bit and then had some dinner and headed home.
Saturday night we all went out (except Rex). They got lots of candies, I got lots of proposals but no candies. Oh well, you cant have everything! Sunday was the first day of Conch season. Jenn, Greg and I went out and got our limit in about 10 minutes, cleaned em up, fixed them in two styles (mine Cayman style, hers Manitoba style) then we all got back together and ate them tonight. Manitoba style is not bad....

Rainy Sunday

The usual Sunday afternoon activity: boating to Rum Point. But the storm clouds were threatening.

Still got in a great session of Football before the rain.

By about 5pm it was getting threatening but we were a little late getting out of there and got caught in a really heavy squall.

It was a whiteout but we managed to get back to Governors Harbour safely and back home. Actually a really fun time, all's well that ends well!
