Surprise Birthday Party

Sharon threw a surprise party for me and it was a complete surprise.

Even some school friends were there. It was a great time but under the weather today!

Windy and cold

A very windy, rough and cold (24C, 75F) Sunday but that has never deterred us before!
So we were off again to see what we could find for lunch. Yes, that is a beer at 11 in the morning.

Luckily, Aunt Shirley, Owen and John did all the hard work of finding our limit of 10 conchs.
Then we went back in to the safety of the house!

There Shirley and I cleaned them, Gary marinated them, we smoked some tuna and turkey, a few friends stop by, enjoyed some wine, talked a lot and pretty much spent the afternoon just enjoying each other's company. Not the typical Sunday, but well spent nonetheless.

Busy Saturday

The day started with football; Triple C 2-Red Bay 2. Then we were off to North Side to remove all the hurricane shutters and do general cleaning. Rushed back to town for Hayley's rehearsal quickly followed by the Netball uniform parade and awards. A little drawn out but Hayley's team looked well even though they did not get an award.

At Granny's

We spent the afternoon at Granny's enjoying the beautiful sunny afternoon and giving Rex a much needed outing.
He enjoyed the swim as much as we did!

Pirates

We missed the pirate's invasion but enjoyed the parade. Very small crowd and strange that everything started early rather than late.
Then Gary picked us up at the dock and we watched the various activities from the harbour...

including the fireworks display.

Some very interesting designs and colours and especially spectacular being on the boat looking back at the lights of George Town.

Football and Fish

I guess I am now a "Soccer Mom"! Hunter saved every shot today in his game against Grace Christian. Final score: 0-0
Shirley and Sharon were out fishing with Gary and came back with three small Dolphin and one very nice Wahoo!
Just what every soccer mom wants; kids playing with stinky fish before going to do the grocery shopping! Off to the Pirates Invasion, Parade, fireworks and street dance so getting a quick rest beforehand.

First conchs of the season

Officially 11 days into the open season for conch and we finally made it out to get some. We ventured out on Sunday but the water was still murky and choppy from the hurricane. So we tried again today. We had a full boatload of people and quickly got our limit of ten.
Hunter liked marinated conch but Hayley wouldn't brave it. It didn't last very long. Chef Gary did a good job.

It was a little choppy but back to being sunny.

And the water was clear as glass. Once again, good weather, great food, lots of refreshing beverages and outstanding company! Two days in a row! Happy Remembrance Day.

Hockey!

Went with the family to the hockey game. Kelowna Rockets beat the Edmonton Oilkings 5-2.
Ended up with attendance of over 6000 which made an interesting experience for me trying to get home! With the time change it is dark before 5 here now and it was rainy. I know, what a woos!

Snow!

Grandma throwing snowballs up at Silver Star.
Hard to see, but lots of fine snow coming down. It is expected to snow up here for the next few days and in town on Thursday.

My little sisters in the village at Big White, just patches of snow and 5C.
Columnar basalt on the road to Big White.

Visiting

Trish, me, Mrs. Williamson and Levi; one big dog!
Last night in Vancouver and last dinner with Jen. Now in Kelowna with Marlee, Bailee, Debbie and Murray, off to Big White now (should be snowing) and then to a hockey game tomorrow night. No internet at Norma's and my email will not send so will post when I can!

It is *#@ cold...

but the show must go on! Ziplining was great and the scenery wasn't bad either. This is Karie flying across (she is the red dot!).

Looking on...

and then some fancy moves!

That's me about to have a bath!
