More snow fun at Silver Star

My plan to "cure" the children of ever wanting to come back to snow is failing...
Even though its minus 9, there is no wind and conditions are really beautiful (can't believe I said that). I was pretty nervous about the snow cave digging but all ended well.
The hot tub was popular after an afternoon of snow, sorry I forgot to bring a bathing suit...

Silver Star

Hayley and Ray-Lee were the only ones brave enough for the hot tub!
First order of business. dig out the car!

Three Caymanians in the snow.

 Nicely bundled up.
 On the way to Tubetown.
Grandma and Hayley heading to the lift.
On the way to the top, our apartment right below. Then the camera froze...

Sovereign Lake

We awakened to a scene of white.
We headed up the mountain to Sovereign Lake cross country skiing centre where they happen to have a nice little hill perfectly groomed for sliding.
 Hayley, Raylee and Randy.
 Getting ready for snowboarding!
I dont think we will ever get all the snow out of him!
 Devon, Hunter and Braeden.
We were there for almost 3 hours, lots of licks, lots of laughs, my nose only now thawed 2 hours later. Everyone exhausted we will have an early night and head to Kelowna very early in the morning.

First snow.

A real housefull tonight: Randy, Devon and Riley, Tanya, Braeden, Kaia and McKenzie, Grandma, Hayley and Hunter all eating fondue.
With fresh snowfall, the snowball fights were in full swing. All should sleep well tonight!

Just enough snow...

There was just enough snow at dinosaur park for some fun.
Hayley got the record for distance and never crashed,
 Grandma got in one run,
Hunter took some spills at high speed. The sun is out now and the snow is melting away but more snow is forecast for Monday.

Christmas!

We celebrated Christmas in Cayman a little early before getting on the plane for the Okanagan.
We arrived in the great white North and started with a visit to Grandpa and family in Kelowna.
Then we spent the night with Grandma in Vernon.
Opened presents very early (7am in Vernon is 10am in Cayman).
Love my new tuque! The snugs and me on our first white Christmas! Merry Christmas everybody!

Oh Christmas Tree

Even though we won't be here, Hayley has insisted that we decorate for Christmas anyway. When I came home this afternoon I found that Charlene had gotten a head-start and the tree was ready for the children to tackle. So I called in the family, opened a nice bottle of wine and we all visited while Hayley did a beautiful job of making our little tree look just magnificent.

Just for fun

 More from the festivities....

Granny's Birthday Dinner

The school's Christmas Concert was Thursday night attended by both Aunts and Granny, so Granny's Birthday dinner had to wait until Friday...
Lots of family, friends and neighbors.
And of course lots of food.
