Last Day of Lobster Season

A lovely Sunday and the last day of Lobster season. We were out and back in within two hours with 5 lobsters and 10 conchs. Then over to Alan and Joyce's for a BBQ. The children were a little worn out from the day before...
...others were worn out from hunting lobsters and conchs for two hours...
...Jill exausted from birthday party organizing and Shirley with the same excuse as me!

Lucky 13

I can hardly believe Hayley is a teenager! Big 13 yesterday and Aunty Jill, Grandma, Granny and in fact just about everyone in the extended family made sure it was a grand affair.
And what better location than Granny's?!
Just as we did when we were a little younger they spent hours on the "slippery rocks".
All the time under the watchful eyes of Granny, Grandma, Rhoda and Melin! (Jill busy looking at pictures, Eric, Nana and Aunt Pam enjoying some leisure time)
The Wisconsin side of the "family" introduced us to a game last year and it was a big hit again this time.
I am not quite sure how Pinatas came into our traditions but who cares as long as there is fun involved! (Bea has quite the swing but it was Chloe's baseball arm that took it out).
Beautiful birthday cake, wonderful birthday party followed by a giant sleepover... what an introduction to parenthood of a teen. :-)

Sunday at Rum Point Part 428

I spent much of the week in Kingston at a conference.

I returned just in time to pick Grandma up from the the airport. She traded the frozen North for a beautiful Sunday at Rum Point. Go figure.

We got some conchs and cleaned them up for lunch. The stingrays were happy for the scraps and Jill got stingray-feeding lessons. It was a fun day...

admittedly more fun for some than others!

The Danes

Shirley's birthday and the Danish side of the family visiting, a recipe for a party! Spent the morning fixing food and stocking coolers then out in the boat early afternoon. First conchs and then off to Rum Point.
We were entertained by a great kite surfer.
It was windy so he was getting some great jumps in. Windy, but sunny and beautiful.
Back to Gary's for birthday cake, then later to Granny's for singing and relaxing. Full day.
