Just for fun

 More from the festivities....

Granny's Birthday Dinner

The school's Christmas Concert was Thursday night attended by both Aunts and Granny, so Granny's Birthday dinner had to wait until Friday...
Lots of family, friends and neighbors.
And of course lots of food.
 Birthday girl!

Thanksgiving Weekend

I flew in to Little Cayman on Wednesday afternoon.
We had our annual Thanksgiving wine dinner on Thursday night.
On Friday we explored the new cave on the eastern end of the island.
I got back from the little island on Saturday afternoon and we all went to visit Granny and Grandaddy. What resulted was a DS playoff with the kids staying in the apartments.

Sunday was church, checking on the North Side house, and then off for conchs and Rum Point. Another beautiful day and a nice weekend.

Thanks

This picture reminds me of my 3 snugglers that I am missing!
Not sure how many years this tradition has been going... but Thanksgiving Wine Dinner at Pirates Point in Little Cayman continues to be one of my favourite things; the food is beyond compare and I pick the wines so you know they're good! :-) And of course good friends, new friends, some photography, some snorkeling maybe even some spelunking all make for a nice couple of days. Thanks.

Flight

Kinda windy and rough but no deterring the boaters from conching. The conchs are a bit scarce already but we managed to get some and marinated them, then enjoyed the social aspects of Rum Point.
Some boaters were not so lucky. This 72' yacht "Flight" from Australia hit the reef and quickly disinigrated spilling 2000 gallons of deisel fuel and spoiling the reef with debris. Opportunists were on hand to salvage what was left, we got a fishing rod and cabin door. What is left of the bow is in the foreground, the engines and stern are slowly being pounded to pieces in the background.

We will skip the rest of Pirates Week...

Thanks Nana for the nicer pictures of Hunter playing steel pan.

On the way to the parade. Beyond this I have no pictures, will see if I can get some from elsewhere...

Katherine came back from Little Cayman today (Monday) so we all met up at Granny's. Enjoyed visiting with Granny, Grandaddy, Gran Grace, Pam, Aunt Tinnie and watching all the birds and fish. Kind of a relaxing day after a very busy weekend.

Pirates Week

Hunter performed in the steel pan competition on Thursday night.
There was a huge crowd and the band played really well for only having been formed a few weeks ago.
Aunt Shirley, Nana, Charlene, Hayley and I were very proud of him!
Then I was off to the kick-off party to supervise my staff.
The Friday fireworks were spectacular.

Getting back on track

Monday evening we went to North Side to visit our neighbors and see the new croc!
It is well-made! Dave gave me grief about not maintaining the blog so I'm trying to get back on track...
Sunday we went conching, first time for the season. Got our limit and made a delicious marinated conch.
We enjoyed it very much. Nice day.

Hangin out

Getting big but still my snugglebunny! :-)
This one is hard to get a picture of but some tickling helps!
Playing on the couch and yes I have viral cunjunctivitis (Pinkeye).

Halloween

Hayley, Yasmin and Katherine made some special cupcakes. There were lots more but we had some special guests stop by....
Some of you may recognize these people, if you don't just ask.

A mixed bag

I went to Little Cayman Wednesday night and we were out fishing at 7 the next morning. Saw a pod of dolphins, lots of turtles and caught some deep water snappers at depths between 600 and 1200 feet.
The ascent from the depths does not improve their appearance!
Taking a mango break after fishing on Saturday.
Back home Sunday afternoon and straight to Granny's.
There was lots of company and Grandaddy was out and about. Showed him the fish pictures and he identified them for me (I had never caught deep water fish before).

Fishing

A busy weekend as usual...Hayley spent Saturday with Emily on her last day, Hunter and I went to the Police auction, boat show and then sprat fishing all afternoon, then all of us went to Gary's for dinner. Sunday morning Hunter and I went deep sea snapper fishing, no snappers but we did catch 3 Flying fish! Spent the afternoon at the North Side house, Jake and Luke stopped by so a very active afternoon. I am off to work, they are still sleeping. What a life!
