Around the World

Hayley and classmates at their Mexico booth. She and Char made sopapillas for the food stall and Hayley made her own Mexico shirt.
Each class had to perform something from their country...
...Hunter's class was Belize. His class won the "best booth" prize and this was the "leaky dory" dance. There were so may people at the event that it became impossible to move around. Granny, Carol, Char and myself all left early it was so crowded! Thanks to Carol for the pictures.

Mother's Day

Hayley got moved up to a more competetive class at swimming. She is such a natural, future olympian? Went to her lessons after work on Friday to see for myself.
Quick trip to Little Cayman on Saturday morning. Cayman Airways decided to go to the Brac first so here's a nice aerial of Sharon's house! (Its the blue one)
On the way back we passed by the North Side house (its the one in the bush!)
And a lovely approach into George Town.
For Mother's Day we spent time at Mom's (where else?!)
The adults got fat while the waterbugs played.
 And played.

And played. Lovely weekend.

Lotsa movin around

I was in Orlando/Tampa on business most of the week, Hayley was on a cruise with Emily and Hunter was home taking care of the household. So I got home Thursday night and Friday after school I took him to Little Cayman to do some fishing. He caught this nice Yellow Jack.
I caught this Mutton Snapper which we ate for dinner and
this Bar Turbot which will be this weekend's dinner.
On the way back we passed by the North Side house, miss that place. Hayley's cruise pictures to come when she proofs them...

Hayley's 14th Birthday (Observed)

This was not your typical party. It started at 2pm at the Memorial House where the girls loaded into a van and were transported to the North Side house. It didn't take them long to find the pool.
There were more gifts to open...
 ...a beautiful cake to eat...
...more late night swimming and then they pretty much stayed up all night talking! Drove them back this morning and I would imagine most of them have had a restful afternoon.
Just for Norma, the little mango tree in the back yard loaded with blossoms, it looks like 1 or 2 might hold!

Hayley's 14th Birthday (Official)

Sunday 26th February 2012. Hayley's 14th Birthday. She and her brother off to church.
Later we hit the beach at Granny's along with some family and friends.

No birthday is complete without birthday cake!
And since it was Audrey's birthday yesterday she joined in the celebration.
Lots of gifts, and we are going to "observe" her birthday with a party and sleep over at the North Side house next weekend...

Little Cayman Beach Clean-up

I flew in to Little Cayman Friday evening to help with a beach clean-up early Saturday morning. This was the "Charles Bight Crew"; there were 6 of us but someone had to take the picture (Peter Hillenbrand).

I was shocked to find that we had over 50 people come out to help including some of the guests of the hotels and a group of students from Dartmouth! And we collect 127 large bags of garbage!

Weekend

Hayley and I did some photography on Saturday and made friends with a seagull.
On Sunday morning, Aunt Shirshir went with Hunter, Rex, Max and I to check on the North Side house.

In the afternoon we celebrated Aunt Shirshir's birthday in Grand style at Rum Point.

The visitng family from Denmark helped celebrate. There was a Nor'wester blowing and we were the only boat out...crazy people! The water was nice and warm but a shock to the system when you got out.
