Rainy Last Day

A rainy Saturday before we depart for Canada tomorrow. The girls all busy playing Wii as I complete the 5th load of laundry, Hunter over playing with Katherine.
Having watched my papayas get bigger and bigger for months they have paid me the ultimate insult by refusing to ripen until I am away. I am sure Jenn will put them to good use.

Boy's Weekend

Boy's weekend in Little Cayman: Gary, Owen, Frank, Hunter and Rufus! Started fishing right away, Hunter really showed me up by catching almost all the fish.

Owen caught a nice Bar Turbit, I caught a small one.
Then the rain started so we went to the museum and had a tour by the owner Mr. Tibbetts.

It rained a lot. So all the Whistling Ducks came to the airport to see us off, hundreds of them!

Awards

The Poincianna trees have announced that Summer is here, just in case you couldn't tell from the heat and humidity! And that means school is out.
Hunter got a creativity award and most improved student in his class. We will all miss Ms. Minton next year.

Hayley received an academic award, the Principal's citizenship award and top honours in language arts. I am so proud.

Surprize of the day was Hunter winning a music award (sounds familiar...) and even he commented "I didn't see that one coming". Two smart kids, not bad looking either and as they say "the mango doesn't fall far from the tree!" :-)
(Now maybe I will get some comments???)

Flowers Sea Swim

All dressed up for the one mile swim! Hunter and Katherine didn't finish due to "injuries".
Hayley not only finished the race but she also beat Jenn!

In the water.

That's what 800 people lined up looks like! Ants.

The walk back from the Ritz to the car. Some will sleep well tonight!

First of the mangoes...

Life lesson: Red is not the right colour to wear when stealing mangoes. But I was in the Brac for the afternoon and saw some I couldn't resist!
Also did some snorkelling on the Prinz Frederic wreck,

saw a beautiful Hawksbill Turtle, Grouper and a small Reef shark!
This morning I worked up an appetite as I sweated away on the porch re-screening project.

Then we went to the beach and as luck would have it I did not get any of the mangoes,

there were other hungry mouths to feed. But we had a great afternoon at the beach with our releatives (Cousin Shawn and family) visiting from Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

Sun-Day

A sunny Sunday, and with everyone back from their travels it was time to get out and enjoy the Caribbean. Someone forgot his swimsuit.

Even the sprats were out and about.

And lots of family and friends around.

Even Granny made an appearance!

And a very happy man to have his babies back home!

Discovery Day Holiday Weekend

We went to Little Cayman for the long weekend and started fishing as soon as we arrived!
Someone has to clean them.

Bike riding was popular this trip.

And Hayley learned how to clean fish, I know, smart daddy!

Fresh fish for dinner!

And then more fish!

Exploring the reef at low tide, tons of brittle star fish.

Even conchs right out of the water.

Hunter managed to net a baby nurse shark! Man was she mad! She was safely released after taking a big bite out of the net and attempting to take off my arm.
Unfortunately the camera battery went dead and we had no charger so missed pictures of all the other activities. Oh well, there's another long weekend in June...
