Saturday

Not taking many pictures lately but staying busy. Hunter and I went to Little League softball while Jenn and Hayley did some shopping. We all met for lunch then spent some time in the skateboard park before attending Petapalooza. Then out to dinner. Boating today... hopefully I'll remember to take some pictures!

Another Sunday at Rum Point

Shirley feeding a stingray, no need to go to stingray city!
Katherine and Hayley return from making sandcastles on the beach.

And my other snuggler thought the water was cold!

Orchid Show

We spent Sunday morning enjoying the orchid show at the Botanic Park and for the first time in many years I did not do a presentation or volunteer to help.

Hayley's birthday weekend

We observed Hayley's Birthday on Saturday with a beach party at West Bay followed by a sleep over in the cottage hosted by Shirley. The children spent Sunday with Granny and Grandaddy while the rest of us spent the afternoon enjoying the blessing of beautiful weather on the beautiful North Sound. Monday a Norwester blew in bringing not only cool windy weather but a stroke of bad luck it seems: Jenn in a minor car accident (rear-ended on the way to school) followed by mom falling and having to be transported by ambulance to the hospital where she remains tonight. She is doing much better but will not be released until they can figure out why she blacked out, so far all tests show nothing out of the ordinary.

Ag Fair

For some strange reason Ash Wednesday is a holiday in Cayman. So we headed off to the Agricultural Show this morning where there was lots of cotton candy, snow cones, soft drinks and chips and also some of the cutest little piglets we had ever seen!

The Boys

The girls were not very photogenic this morning as the gang ate breakfast. Hayley is suffering the ill effects of glitter in the eye which has kept us indoors the whole long-weekend. :-(
The boys on the other hand were doing just fine. Hunter busy working on his new spy headquarters...

Max looking resplendent in the back yard and...

the patriarch Rex keeping a close eye on things.

Wine and Water

Went to the Chaine wine dinner Saturday night then had the usual weekend of boating all day Sunday. Norma took the pictures as I am still without a camera.

Bad News

The house was broken into last night. Glass smashed and a quick dash while Norma and the kids slept. Gone is the camera, laptop, Norma's camera, Jenn's laptop and jewelry. So no pictures for a while. Good news? Everyone is doing fine, kids are back in school, Jenn is back from the North, Norma is visiting, Max and Rex are best of friends and all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. If by some miracle the police find our stuff you'll be the first to know!

Last Day of 2008

Rex and Max are now friends. Rex was not sure about him at first but now they spend a great part of the day fighting and sleeping.
It has been a glorious last day of 2008 and a perfect day for the beach.
Enjoying the sea and sun at Governor's Beach after some sand fights and American football.

Happy New Year, best wishes for a safe and happy 2009!

Meet Max!

Meet the newest addition to the family: Max!

He is a lot German Shepherd and so far not receiving a warm welcome from Rex! But he has been warmly received by the two snugglers. They are quite excited. Cleaning up pee will soon end that.

And on a negative note, tomorrow I say good bye to a wonderful friend who is leaving the island. Selda will be greatly missed by all of us who have had the pleasure of being her friend. This is her last Cayman sunset this evening with Liv on the right. Hope she'll be back some day.
