Playground Memorial

There was a brief dedication ceremony this morning for the Alita Roulstone Memorial Playground with the new sign put in place.
Hayley, Hunter and friends are really enjoying the playground. I don't know what they have done for all these years without one. I love kid pictures! More pictures when I get them from Carol.

Sunday, sunny Sunday

A relaxing Sunday morning at home with coffee and orange scones. Went to Granny's for lunch and then took a swim. Rex enjoyed a rare trip to the beach. Here he sports his new heart-shaped ID Jenn got him in Miami.
It was not a bad day for the beach...
and Grandma's last few days with us for a while.
Hayley loves the company of her dog! She says they were having a swimming competition! Off to the Reid's for dinner then back to the old grind tomorrow...

Early Saturday morning and the boys are snuggling (watching cartoons actually!) while the girls have gone to piano. All off to gymnastics soon, then Uncle Gary's birthday party. Missin' Miss Kris and looking forward to seeing her tomorrow!

Earth Day Fun Run

The Earth Day 5K Fun Run was a huge success with over 150 people completing the run. That included 17 corporate teams, not bad for 7:30am on a Sunday morning. No wonder there are big smiles from me and Jerry from Phoenix Athletics Club!
Posing with one of the three corporate teams from Turner & Roulstone.

Back to school...

On the last weekend of spring break, Hayley still had piano lessons on Saturday morning.
So Hunter enjoyed the playground equipment at the school while he waited.
Sunday morning we went orchid shopping, only bought two,
then to Granny's and the beach. Too rough for swimming but perfect for building clubhouses in fallen tree stumps. We even took Rex today and Aunt Shir Shir cooked up some great shrimp boil, couple of cold cervesas and a cool breeze, good company: beautiful day.

Easter Sunday

Middle: Norma did not want a party so we had a birthday party for Rex which also doubled as a second birthday party for Starri!
Bottom: Starri and the gang blow out the candles on the Easter Agouti cake! Rex, unfortunately, was not able to help.

Easter Saturday

The Snugglers and Starri enjoyed a Cayman tradition by camping on Easter weekend! A calm sunny Friday became a windy, rainy Friday night but the sun was back Saturday morning. I camped in the same spot I have almost every night for the past nine years!

Late Saturday afternoon clouds of smoke billowed as some moron set fire to yard trimmings dumped by the roadside. The high winds whipped it into the trees and sent the fire racing inland towards the house until...
...the fire service arrived and prevented further spread. It continues to smoke tonight much to the annoyance of the Whittakers whose home is just downwind.

A late evening swim to end the day. That is not a tatoo, not sure what it is, but I am not going through midlife crisis (as far as I can tell, could be wrong, but no tatoo as yet)!

Grandma is Here!

While I was busy at work presenting iguana sponsorship papers to the year 6 at Prospect Primary...
Grandma arrived and was enjoying the two snugglers, the Cayman weather and the pool!
